Eden Hazard’s now infamous kick out at a Swansea ball-boy has split the footballing world, with some sticking up for the actions of the young Chelsea ace, while others have condemned him for taking the law into his own hands and blasted him as stupid for it.

Stupid or not, footballers have never been renowned in the large part to be the sharpest tools in the box; however despite the stereotypes, it was recently revealed that football players are actually a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for, and the likes of Frank Lampard and Petr Cech are renowned for having an exceptionally high IQ. Then again, clearly not all of them fit into the new category of the ‘smart footballer’, and in fact many live up to the old preconceptions that footballers tend to be a few dumplings short of a stew.

The ‘Not so Clever’ XI is a collection of those Premier League footballers, who shall we say weren’t the brightest.
