Georginio Wijnaldum could be a player than can step right into the Newcastle midfielder and secure his place in the first team with a few key members of the squad set to leave in the summer. The PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder is very good at keeping the ball and taking players on, much like Hatem Ben Arfa, who could be leaving the Magpies in the summer.
His previous season was halted by injuries, therefore limiting his appearances to only 17 for the entire campaign, where he managed to bag six goals and provide 1 assist. The 23-year-old is currently valued at £6 million, a price which may not be too much for Alan Pardew’s limited transfer budget. The Dutch player is also part of his national team set up and should probably be named in Louis van Gaal’s final World Cup selection.
