The January transfer window presents managers with a real set of dilemma’s each season. The desire to open the chequebook in a bid to maintain early season form, replace ‘wantaway’ players or attempt to drag yourself clear of the drop zone is always a strong one for almost all managers.

Despite players often being overpriced in the ‘January sales’ many managers to decide to get their hands dirty in a bid to find that missing piece of the puzzle for the remainder of the season.

Despite this if you look a little deeper there was some smart business taking place, as a few Premier League sides brought in some top-notch performers for the ‘business end’ of the season.
