Norwich City are plotting a move for Everton defender John Heitinga, after the defender snubbed a move to West Ham last week, according to the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old is set to leave Goodison Park this month after falling down the pecking order under Roberto Martinez.
The likes of Newcastle, Fulham and Roma have all expressed an interest, although all three clubs are also said to be monitoring Manchester United left back Alex Buttner.
Heitinga looked all set for a move to Upton Park last week, only to pull the plug on the deal at the last minute.
“The deal has been cancelled,” Heitinga said.
“This has nothing to do with money, but is only about the feeling I got.
“This might be the most important decision of my career, so everything has to be just right. We reached the conclusion that this is not the case after we held talks.”
Chris Hughton will now try and persuade the Dutch international that his future lies at Carrow Road, with Norwich desperate to add new faces this month without breaking the bank.
The Canaries occupy 15th place in the Premier League, and are just three points clear of the relegation zone.
