Porto striker Jackson Martinez has left the door ajar for a summer move to the Premier League by claiming that he is ready to join a ‘big club’.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Colombian international, who has been in razor-sharp form since moving to Portugal from Mexico in 2012.

An impressive record of 39 goals in just 47 appearances for Porto has caused interest from across the continent to spike, with a number of Europe’s finest sides all watching his situation closely.

A January switch was mooted, but after deals failed to materialise he looks set to move on in the summer.

Martinez says that he is content at his current club, yet a transfer to a bigger league would tempt him:

“Maybe there will be this possibility [of a move],” he is quoted by talkSPORT.

“I am happy at Porto, but it would be nice to one day play in another big club.

“I like the English, Italian, Spanish and German leagues. I have no preference.”

As well as Arsenal and Chelsea, the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Monaco and Barcelona have all been linked with moves for Martinez, who has been lauded for his physical approach and eye for goal.
