Napoli star Edinson Cavani hopes that his £54m price tag won’t scare clubs planning to make a summer bid for his signature.
A clause in his contract will allow him to leave the club for £54m, a vast sum for even the likes of City.
But, Cavani is hopeful that Europe’s top sides will not be deterred by his value:
“If a club has a clear project and they want to focus on me, they can’t be frightened in front of this figure.” He is quote by The Mirror.
Despite this, he maintained that he is fully committed to Napoli and is not thinking about his next career move:
“For now, I’m not thinking about (my future). Later, it will be up to the club to take into consideration what should be done.
“I am happy here. Napoli have given me a lot and I am trying to repay them. We’ll talk about it.”
As well as the Premier League duo, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been linked with the front-man.
His impressive record of 18 goals in 19 Serie A appearances this term has served to boost interest, with a summer move appearing likely.
The 25-year-old started his career with Danubio in his homeland, before joining Palermo in 2007.
He then switched to Napoli, where he has been consistently impressive.
