QPR and Crystal Palace are set for a late battle to snap up Norwich striker Gary Hooper in a £5m deal, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.

The Canaries beat a host of top tier sides to snap up the forward from Celtic last summer, but he was unable to produce the sort of form he showed in Scotland in the yellow shirt as the East Anglians slipped to relegation.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp chased Hooper last year, but was unable to snap up due to is side having then been in the Championship.

But with the tables having turned, he’s confident of grabbing the 26-year-old as he prepares for the potential late loss of Loic Remy.

But the Super Hoops are facing competition from palace, with Neil Warnock keen to get names through the doors at Loftus Road after taking over from Tony Pulis.

The Eagles are thought to see a new striker as useful, with Hooper’s physicality and eye for goal tempting.

Norwich are unlikely to put up too much of a fight after dropping into the second tier, with offloading big earners a reality at Carrow Road.
