With the English Premier League already into its second week, Fantasy Football fanatics have been cheering squad players performing on the main stage while others cursed their selections for falling short.

Bandwagons for players are already being jumped upon and with prices fluctuating like the NASDAQ, you may not have much time before the player you desire becomes too expensive for your budget.

However the Fantasy Football is a marathon, not a sprint. There is always time to make a few changes before going into any set of fixtures, but here are SIX players you MUST have in your side this weekend.

Goalkeeper: Tim Krul (Newcastle)

Tim Krul (Netherlands):

We start of at the back, and it’s not other than Newcastle and Holland goal-keeper Tim Krul.

Priced at only £4.5m in the Official Fantasy Premier League game, the Toon shot-stopper already amassed a clean sheet last weekend and is set to go on a run of decent fixtures... starting with a visit from an out-of-sorts Crystal Palace.

If he keeps another clean-sheet at St.Jame’s Park against the Eagles this weekend, then his modest £4.5 price tag is bound to rise over the course of the next few game-weeks.

Defender: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

Ivanovic

Although Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier is the number one defender so far with 29 points from just two games, his security for starts given the likely return of Kyle Walker from suspension puts Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic as the must have defender going into game-week three.

The Serbian, currently priced at £7.1m, has had an almost magnificent start to the season with a goal and an assist in his first two fixtures.

The Blues may be facing Everton at Goodison Park this weekend but Ivanovic’s form is too good to ignore, and with Chelsea keeping 16 clean sheets last season, it’s very likely Mourinho will keep it tight at the back allowing Ivanovic to reap in shutout points.

Midfielder: Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Ramsey

Two goals in two games for the Welshman and he almost picks himself.

After exploding in an amazing run of goalscoring-form last year, Aaron Ramsey has continued his exploits and sits as the top-scoring midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League thus far... with 19 points.

With the Gunners travelling to Leicester City this weekend, you’ll be a brave man to bet against the £9.1 priced midfielder grabbing another goal at the King Power Stadium.

Ramsey is also suspended for Arsenal’s midweek Champions League clash against Besiktas, making him fresh for the Leicester encounter.

Midfielder: Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea)

Sigurdsson

With Manchester United as Swansea’s first opponents when the season kicked-off, not many were willing to start with Gylfi Sigurdsson in their squads. They would all regret the decision, as the Fantasy Football darling came away from Old Trafford with a goal and an assist.

Sirgurdsson started the first major bandwagon this season, with his price now soaring from £6.0 to £6.3 in the span of just 1 and a half weeks. And with fixtures on the Swan’s side there is no reason to not snap him up if you don’t already have him.

Swansea host West Bromwich Albion at home this weekend, giving the Icelandic midfielder a great chance to add to his 18 points tally.

Forward: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

ClickRooney

Despite Manchester United’s 4-0 mauling at the hands of MK Dons Tuesday night, Wayne Rooney will be expected to score when the Red Devils travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley this weekend.

The England international has been the club’s main man under new boss Louis van Gaal, and after already notching one goal in his side’s 2-1 loss to Swansea on opening day, the £10.5 priced striker has the quality to add a goal or two against Sean Dyche’s men.

The new signing of Angel di Maria is also expected to lift spirits at Old Trafford, hopefully revitalizing the striker as United head into a great run of fixtures where they face the three newly promoted clubs in the next three games.

Forward: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Aguero1

Stevan Jovetic (£8.0) may have grabbed all the headlines in Man City’s 3-1 win over Liverpool on Monday, but it is Sergio Aguero that has again caught the attention of Fantasy Premier League managers with another goal... this time after just 23 seconds on the pitch.

He may be priced at a high £12.0 in the Fantasy Premier League roster, but the Argentine is a Points Monster. Now with Edin Dzeko carrying a slight injury, City boss Manuel Pellegrini can’t afford to “ease” the striker into games any longer.

Stoke City travel to the Etihad this weekend and could be at the end of a total hiding from the Premier League champions, with Aguero expected to be in amongst the goals.
