Ruddy is one of the few players who performs consistently aboard the sinking ship that is Norwich City. The sacking of Chris Hughton has come as no surprise as it has been rumoured that he has lost the trust of the dressing room. But Ruddy’s week-in week-out solid performances haven’t suggested anything but a fully focused professional. There was little he could do about Morgan Amalfitano’s goal in Norwich’s 1-0 loss to West Brom this weekend. A couple of good close-range saves from Matej Vydra and Graham Dorrans were all he could do to prevent West Brom from scoring more. Norwich’s downturn in form and precarious position could damage his World Cup chances, but this one is increasingly difficult to call.
