New Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is eyeing up a move for his old Feyernoord skipper Jordy Clasie, according to MirrorFootball.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with both Manchester United and Liverpool this summer but could up on the south coast.
Koeman has been handed a huge £70m warchest to help fill the void left by last season’s stars Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Rickie Lambert.
And Clasie could join former Feyenoord Graziano Pelle and FC Twente midfielder Dusan Tadic at St. Mary’s as Koeman begins his own Saints revolution.
Meanwhile, Southampton are preparing a second bid for Celtic stopper Fraser Forster after an £8m approach was turned down earlier this week.
Forster wants a move to the Premier League to help boost his chances on the international stage with England.
Celtic have already prepared for Forster’s departure by signing former Sunderland keeper and free agent Craig Gordon.
