Southampton are ready to offer Tottenham‘s Andros Townsend a White Hart Lane exit route, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 22-year-old winger emerged as one of English football’s brightest talents last year, but has seen his promise curtailed by a series of injures – the latest of which has ruled him out of England’s World Cup campaign.

And now it has emerged that Spurs are ready to cash in on the flying wide-man as they plot additions this summer.

Tottenham originally offered Townsend as a sweetener in a deal for Adam Lallana, yet the swoop appears to be a no-go with the playmaker not willing to switch to the London club.

However the Saints are keen to take Spurs man.

The Hampshire side are willing to offer him a hike on his £24,000-per-week earnings to lure him to the South Coast, and are hopeful that guaranteed playing time may be a big factor.

Tottenham are also considering letting Nacer Chadli and Gylfi Sigurdsson leave the club – with the former having only arrived last summer.

The future of Paulinho – another 2013 recruit – is also up in the air.
