Stoke City have signed the highly rated Belgian youngster Julien Ngoy after beating off competition from around Europe, according to ESPN.

Ngoy is just 15 years old but is widely considered to be one of the most impressive youngsters of Europe, continuing Belgium’s recent advance in the world of football.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid were all after Ngoy and made formal offers to the players’ representatives’, however the youngster feels he will break in to the Stoke side at an earlier age compared to the others.

Ngoy will play for both the under 16’s and under 18’s this season to see how far he has to go in order to play men’s football.

“He’s started well, so we’re just going to see how he progresses and gets on,” said Damien Francis, a representative of Ngoy’s agency.

“In Belgium, he plays for the national team so we’ve got high hopes for him. For a 15-year-old he’s very talented. If he keeps his feet on the ground and works hard, the sky’s the limit for him.

“He’s a young lad, so he’s got to keep his feet on the ground, and work hard in order to make it. He’s done nothing in the game, in reality, because he’s got a long career ahead of him.”
