Asmir Begovic has revealed that everyone at Stoke is excited about the arrival of Bojan Krkic.
The Potters drafted in the versatile attacker from Barcelona earlier this summer in a move that surprised many.
Once one of European football’s top prospects, Bojan’s career has stalled a little in recent years, but his technical abilities are seen as exciting at the Britannia Stadium given the club’s reputation for direct and robust football.
The 23-year-old scored numerous goals at youth level and broke into Barca’s first-team at the age of 17, before going on to play for Roma and Ajax.
His signature is testament to Mark Hughes’ desire to move Stoke away from their physical tag, and Begovic believes that his presence has given everyone associated with club a big lift:
“He has [got us excited]. He’s come in with his class and his ability and given everyone a lift.” He told talkSPORT.
“It shows the ambition of the club to be able to attract a player of his calibre. We’re excited to have him, he’s done well and he’s settled in right away which is important.
“You can see the class he has and I think he will be a big player for us this season.”
