The Bosnia international has been closely monitored by the Blues, along with Arsenal and Manchester United, this season and view him as an able deputy for Petr Cech after losing patience with current number two Ross Turnbull.
Rafael Benitez is determined to bring in quality backup this month and is reportedly set to test the waters at the Britannia Stadium with a bid for Begovic before the transfer window closes later this evening.
However, the 25-year-old says insists he has no desire to leave the Potters this month and is happy to be remaining with the club.
“I am in for training today, so I’m looking forward to staying and looking forward to the game at the weekend,” Begovic saud.
“I don’t see anything happening now, that time has passed. I’m just concentrating on what I need to do here and then I’ll have my popcorn ready to watch you guys tonight to see what happens.”
Begovic was also welcoming of rumours that Tony Pulis was lining up a move for Birmingham’s Jack Butland and insists he would thrive under added competition the talented 19-year-old would provide.
“I would look forward to it if he comes. He’s another great talent,” he added.
“We have a good group of goalkeepers already here and it would be good to have the competition around. He’s a big talent and I’m sure he would make us better.”
