Jonathan De Guzman admits he is desperate to stay at Swansea after his loan deal expires at the end of the season, the Daily Mail report.

Since arriving at the Liberty Stadium from Villarreal in the summer De Guzman has become an integral cog for Swans boss Michael Laudrup and illustrated his importance with two goals in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Stoke.

It now seems likely that Laudrup will look to retain the 25-year-old beyond the current campaign, although the ball is very much in his Spanish clubs court, with reports suggesting they will require a fee of £5 million, plus £1m in add ons, to make the arrangement permanent.

There has also been talk of a first cap for the Holland national team but the 25-year-old is concentrating on delivering success in the south Wales and reiterated his desire to stay ahead of the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg with Chelsea on Wednesday.

“I have scored six goals here and am a happy camper – I would love to stay,” De Guzman said. “It’s a great group, not just the players but the guys around the place – the staff and the fans.

“It’s a family club and I like that. There is something good happening here and I like being part of it.”

He has to stay. Every one loves him, he’s a firecracker who fits in here. Whatever it takes I’m sure we will do. In Hugh Jenkins we trust :-)))
