Wilfried Bony has fuelled speculation of a possible summer move away from Swansea by revealing that he is keen to impress interested teams ahead of the transfer window.
The Ivorian striker only joined the Swans last summer after earning a reputation as one the Eredivisie’s top goal-getters with Vitesse Arnhem, and has settled into Premier League life well.
Despite Swansea occupying a spot perilously close to the relegation zone, Bony has managed to notch 11 top tier goals, and starred in their run to the Europa League knockout stage.
His performances have drawn attention from a number of clubs, with Everton rumoured to be eyeing the 25-year-old as an alternative to on-loan ace Romelu Lukaku.
Although a move away from the Liberty Stadium after just one campaign had appeared unlikely, Bony says that he is looking to prove his abilities to other clubs during his last five games of the season:
“I’m going to try and do my best in the last five games of the season and we’ll see what happens.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.
“As a striker, if you score, teams will be interested.”
Bony has been compared to international team-mate and former Chelsea hero Didier Drogba on numerous occasions in his career thanks to his physical style and eye for goal.
