Swansea manager Michael Laudrup believes that summer signing Alejandro Pozuelo can have a similar impact at the Liberty Stadium to that of Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool.
The 22-year-old completed his move to South Wales from Real Betis over the summer and has looked lively in his outings for the Swans so far.
Coutinho has proven to be a massive hit for the Reds during his time at club, emerging as one of their key men since his switch to Merseyside in January.
And Laudrup – whose side take on St Gallen in the Europa League tomorrow evening – believes that Pozuelo can mirror the impact of the Anfield ace.
“Alejandro is still young but has so much quality, with two feet, that he can do here what Coutinho has done at Liverpool,” Laudrup told The Express.
“When Coutinho arrived from Inter, he also had a lot to learn, but is now one of the most important players at Liverpool.”
Pozuelo has been compared to Coutinho due to his similar playing style and ability to operate from any of the attacking midfield roles behind a main striker.
The Spaniard impressed for Betis last term, convincing Laudrup to make his move.
Can Alejandro Pozuelo have the same impact as Philippe Coutinho?
