Part of the joy of transfer deadline day is getting a kick out of the deals you can say with great certainly will become disasters. Some are more obvious than others, while the fee alone is enough to make the transfer of most players a complete waste.
On deadline day, you can always be sure there will be a manager giving an interview out of his car window – which, shockingly, has become something of a trend. And while that is all great, the loss of nerve from Premier League clubs who have buckled under the pressure and parted with an enormous fee for not a whole lot in return is what deadline day is for. At least for most.
