The Brazilian ace has been linked with both Premier League clubs – as well as Southampton for some time – with rumours suggesting that Spurs have been close to clinching his signature on multiple occasions.
However a deal has failed to materialise, leaving the 24-year-old in his homeland.
Damiao himself is thought to be keen on a move to Europe, but his employers have been less open to negotiating a big switch.
With the January transfer window approaching, speculation of more serious offers has begun to circulate, and Giovanni Luigi says that his side’s star man could be sold.
“There are no negotiations underway as the league just ended on Sunday,” Luigi told the Daily Star.
“The possibility of Leandro Damiao leaving is still open, but nobody has contacted me.”
Despite having invested heavily in Roberto Soldado to ease their striking concerns during the last window, Spurs are believed to be the more interested of the two sides, and could look to up their interest once again.
Liverpool are also watching, with Brendan Rodgers keen to secure some support for Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez.
