Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are all chasing Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been one of the Rotterdam side’s standout performers over the course of the past season, and has even booked a spot in Holland’s World Cup squad for this summer.

His performances have naturally attracted some of Europe’s big hitters, with Liverpool, Spurs and United all keen.

The latter appear to have the best chance of getting him, with current Oranje coach Louis van Gaal set to take over at Old Trafford when the showpiece tournament ends in a few months’ time.

The Dutchman is known to be looking to secure a replacement for Nemanja Vidic, and could use de Vrij to do so.

Liverpool are also in the market after conceding 50 Premier League goals – the highest total in the top four – which ultimately cost them their title shot.

Spurs are the final side of the trio involved in the battle, with the London club set to back their new manager – whose identity is as of yet unknown – in the transfer market.

no its not really down to the manager is down to players to make man utd a top side again you don’t see louis van gaal on the pitch scoring goals but hes a manager not a player so if man utd wants to be back in the champions league then they need the players to play better

    P.s i’m a liverpoolfc supporter
