The club’s record £31million signing has endured an awful debut season in England, managing just 10 starts and one goal – which came in the Europa League group stages.
The 22-year-old has reportedly struggled to settle in north London, and has been consistently linked with a return to Italy at the end of the season.
Lamela has not featured for Tottenham since December because of injury, and is yet to play under Tim Sherwood, who has been very vocal about players who he believes lack the character to play for the club.
However, despite the speculation, Lamela’s brother reckons he will stay and fight to be a success at White Hart Lane.
When asked on Twitter whether Lamela would leave the club should boss Tim Sherwood get sacked, brother Brian simply responded: ‘No.’
The winger had looked the most direct replacement for Gareth Bale after signing from Roma last summer, but has managed just three Premier League starts all season.
