The agent of Inter Milan full-back Yuto Nagatomo has revealed that Tottenham are interested in his client.
Spurs have been linked with the 27-year-old ace on numerous occasions over the course of the past few seasons after being impressed by his Serie A displays.
With Tim Sherwood already believed to be lining up possible summer targets, it is thought that the Asian star is once again on the club’s radar.
Nagatomo has been a key member of Inter’s first-team for some time, but with the San Siro side now under new ownership there is much doubt surrounding some of their big name players.
The Japanese international is one speculated to be available, despite his standing.
The defender’s agent, Roberto Tukada, says that there is interest from Spurs, but that his client is happy at Inter:
“Tottenham have been following him for a while but there is nothing more than that,” Tukada told talkSPORT.
“He still has more than two-years left on his contract with Inter and we want to renew. I think we will talk during the summer. The player is happy at Inter and there is no reason to think he will change teams.”
Tottenham are known to be looking to strength in wide defensive areas, and could use Nagatomo to do so.
The experienced and versatile defender may also serve to increase the club’s profile in Japan due to his popularity in his homeland.
