Ajax manager Frank de Boer has revealed that he is considering an approach from Tottenham to replace Tim Sherwood at the end of the season.

Despite having only named their current boss over the winter, Spurs are set to enter the managerial market for a new head coach in a few months’ time.

Manchester United target Louis van Gaal has long been tipped as the favourite to take control at White Hart Lane, yet he is thought to be angling towards the job at Old Trafford.

De Boer is another target for the club, with the Dutchman having just guided Ajax to a fourth Eredivisie title in as many seasons.

The 43-year-old says that he is pondering an offer from the London club, and that he is keen to have a similar impact at a big club to that of Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool his season:

“Spurs have made an approach. After the last league game I’ll think about it. I’ll talk to them and listen what they have to say,” He is quoted by The Metro,

“I would like to add something to a club like Brendan Rodgers did at Liverpool.”

Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino is also a rumoured target, with Sherwood unlikely to retain his job beyond the end of 2013/14.
