All is set for a very merry Christmas at White Hart Lane, after Andre Villas-Boas promised his players they would enjoy ‘two or three’ parties over the festive period.

The news marks a reverse of the ban Harry Redknapp had enforced on Christmas bashes three years ago.

Spurs lost a Christmas fixture to Wolves, just four days after Robbie Keane had organised a secret trip to Dublin where players let their hair down.

But AVB is keen to re-introduce the celebrations to boost team-bonding.

He told The Sun, “It’s normal, part of our group spirit. I am not sure if it’s those kind of situations that will affect performances.

“We will try to gather the group, to have dinner and go on from there. We will try to get two or three (parties). I am not worried about what might happen.”

However there will be very little festive cheer at QPR
