Tottenham target, striker Leandro Damiao, could be definitely rebuffing the Premier League club and making a move to Italy during the next summer window, the Daily Star reports.
The player’s agent, Vinicius Prates, has revealed the interest of the 23 year-old for the Serie A, where he expects to end up playing: “The Italian championship is a goal for Damiao”, manager says.
Therefore, the long-term chase could be over for the White Hart Lane club, who in the last summer was reportedly very close to sign the hitman for a sum of £20million.
It is thought Juventus and Napoli are interested in the striker, with the Azzurri club as favourite in the odds if their current star Edinson Cavani sets sail to a top club
Damiao’s agent, however, denies any kind of deal at this stage, claiming that the player is happy in Porto Alegre but leaving the doors open to a summer move.
“He is focused on succeeding in Brazil but anything can happen in June, although we have no agreement with European teams”, Prates confirmed.
Damiao’s representative confirmed Internacional rejected a £17 million offer for the Brazilian ace, sending a clear message to any club interested in his talent: “Few European clubs have the ability to hire Damiao right now”, the agent warned.
