Poor Harry Kane. All that pressing, all those goals and not even a single break. Just how did he cope last season? Well, maybe he's at the end of his tether and he won't be able to shoulder the responsibility next season, who knows.

Tottenham are in desperate need of a striker next season and, with the Champions League campaign bearing down on them, they have little choice but to invest heavily this summer. Kane is at risk of burn-out considering the lack of rest he will get over the next few months and Spurs fans know all too well how detrimental that could be to their campaign in 2016/17.

The European Championship is always an ideal time to do a bit of early scouting and keep tabs on which players really leap out from the crowd. It'll be tricky in such a large tournament - and values will go through the roof - but it might well be worth it.

So, here are FIVE for Mr. Levy and Mr. Pochettino to keep an eye out for...

Aritz Aduriz

With Fernando Torres and Diego Costa missing out on the Spain squad, Aritz Aduriz has every chance of continuing his brilliant season with Bilbao at the EUROs.

Although he may not be a first-choice, the veteran striker could be a crucial player from the bench in the latter stages of the tournament. A prolific campaign in La Liga might make him a good, experienced alternative for Spurs.

Michy Batshuayi

With competition for places intense in the Belgian front line, Batshuayi will have to impress in any minutes he does get. The Marseille striker was tipped for a move to the Premier League last summer but opted to stay in Ligue 1 instead.

His form was just as good as it was in Belgium and he would perfectly fit the energetic nature of Pochettino's squad.

Graziano Pelle

Like Aduriz, Pelle is a more experienced alternative.

The Southampton man has been in and out of the team on the south coast, but has previously been favoured by Antonio Conte in the Italian side.

Primarily used as a target man, Pelle would give Pochettino a different option in the final third, but it isn't clear whether he could really fit in to the current Spurs set-up. Spurs fans will have seen plenty of him before, but this is an opportunity to get a real grasp of how he works in a different team/system.

Andre Schurrle

Not a natural number 9, Schurrle would be more of a makeshift option for Spurs (much like Son).

The German was sporadically brilliant whilst at Chelsea and continues to earn his place in the Germany squad after a good season at Wolfsburg. Although he doesn't possess the back to goal play that Kane offers, Schurrle's blistering pace would work well to stretch opponents' defences.

Christian Benteke

Benteke hasn't been as much of a failure at Liverpool as many would like you to think. However, he is clearly not a player that Klopp has much time for and could well be on the move again this summer.

The second Belgian on this list will be a familiar face to many Spurs fans and Levy could surely be tempted if Liverpool offered him at a cut price deal.
