While most eyes were on Arsenal's trip to Man City, Spurs quietly went about their business at White Hart Lane to pick up a vital 3 points against Burnley.
Danny Rose and Dele Alli were the men on target to fire their side to victory, four in a row at home in the Premier League.
Having to come from behind, Mauricio Pochettino's side eventually ran out 2-1 winners and moved to within one point of Arsenal in 4th.
With Wenger's side looking increasingly frail, Spurs are now very well placed to push on and into those Champions League positions.
For Burnley it's an opportunity missed to pick up a huge result on the road as they continue to fight hard against becoming embroiled in a relegation battle.
Here are FIVE photos that best summed up all the action in London...
A shocking start
Burnley took the game to their hosts from the start and were arguably the better side when Ashley Barnes prodded home to give the Clarets a shocking opener.
The goal seemed to wake Spurs up but Burnley will have been happy to perform to such a high level against one of the division's elite sides. They could surprise a few teams this season if they continue to start games like this one.
Dele Alli's perfect timing
Latching on to Kyle Walker's fine cut back with perfect timing and precision, Dele Alli again showed why he's potentially Spurs' most valuable player right now.
He eluded every player in the box to direct the ball home, a step ahead of every play on the pitch. It was the 20 year old's 5th goal of the season and you get the feeling he's going to score many more.
From this point on Pochettino's side didn't look like losing.
Relief from Rose
The joy and relief on the faces of the Spurs players and fans was clear to see when Rose smashed home Spurs' winner.
It took until past the 70th minute to get it and Spurs had been piling on the pressure previous to Rose's fine finish. The eventual breakthrough was well deserved with the North London side having an incredible 30 shots at goal across the 90 minutes.
Burnley were left dejected and slightly aggrieved given who supplied the assist for Rose...
The sins of Sissoko
Kevin Friend's decision to only show a yellow to Moussa Sissoko for a studs-up high challenge on Stephen Ward was a contentious one.
Even more so when Sissoko supplied the assist to Danny Rose's winner just minutes later. Burnley had defended well up to that point and were likely on course for a fantastic point.
It's a decision that proved to be the major talking point after the game and one that the travelling Clarets fans will have taken with them all the way on the trip back North.
Classy home form
Spurs are now in fantastic home form in the Premier League and it's going to take an almighty performance to overturn them at White Hart Lane.
Confidence is high playing in front of their own fans and with a massive home game against Chelsea coming up, that togetherness is going to be vital.
Now they don't have Europe to focus on for the next couple of months they can really push on in the Premier League.
