The new Premier League season is just around the corner and it mean’s Fantasy Football is back!

With focus on Tottenham Hotspur, who had a rather conflict filled previous campaign despite their Europa League finish, there are some standout players worth taking a look at in regards to different positions and value.

Defence:

Jan Vertonghen is the most reasonable pick because of his five goals in his first season at Tottenham. Despite failing to replicate that form, a change in management with the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino seems to have given the side a much needed boost. He picked up 91 points last time around but is capable of a lot more having gotten 136 the season before.

Forward:

Roberto Soldado has already netted two pre-season goals despite his huge goal drought the previous season. He has been linked with a return to Spain due to his drop in form throughout the campaign, but with his scoring abilities likely to return, he could even get the nod over usual striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Priced at 8.0, it looks as though he is only the rise again after notching two pre-season goals on tour. With only Adebayor and Harry Kane to battle for place against, Soldado looks to be in pole position for the attacking role.

Worth a Punt:

The huge purchase of Erik Lamela was met with a even larger injury which saw him miss pretty much the entire season. However, he has been working himself throughout his break to stay fit and by scoring three goals on his pre-season; the best is yet to come from the 22-year-old.

Priced at 8.0, he only got 14 points the previous season after managing to get a few games in before eventually getting hurt once again. Although he is considered a huge flop given the price they paid for him, this could be his year to silence his critics.

Budget Pick:

New signing Ben Davies is priced at a very reasonable 5.0 and looks certain to be Tottenham’s first choice left back. Playing down the flanks increases the possibility of him grabbing an assist from a cross hence giving a higher potential of extra points.
