Gareth Bale has again said he wants to play abroad in the future, but has given Spurs hope he will stay on for at least another season.
The 23-year-old, who was named double Player of the Year recently, has had an outstanding season for Tottenham and has been courted by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid as a result.
The Wales international has always maintained he is happy at White Hart Lane and his latest comments will give Spurs heart he plans to stay on for now, although he admits he would like to play abroad at some point in his career.
“I have said in the past I would love to experience playing abroad,” Bale told Sky Sports. “You can never tell what the future holds, but at the moment I am concentrating on what I am doing here.
“It gets asked a lot at the moment, but it is something I am not thinking too much about at the moment. My mind is not wandering anywhere.”
With Spurs still chasing Champions League qualification for next season, Bale says his only focus is on that.
“We have a job to do,” he added. “We set a goal at the start of the season and we want to achieve it.
“Winning is a massive thing and playing against the best teams is what a footballer wants to do. Champions League is a massive thing. We have been there before, playing against the best teams in the biggest stadiums, testing ourselves.”
