After a howling miss in midweek, Roberto Soldado would have been dreaming to get another good chance to put the ball in the net and silence his critics.
He did – but he couldn’t find the target again.
Within a minute of coming on, the ball fell to the Spaniard six yards out but his powerful shot was spooned wide.
Twitter, of course, found the funny side and began taunting the striker who went on to miss two more chances as Spurs fell further behind fourth spot and look to be struggling to make the Champions League.
Surely Soldado is winning the worst signing of the season race ??

Given his accuracy, Soldado should stop shooting for the corners and just aim for the keeper. #thfc

Sp*rs paid £26m for Soldado. That works out at roughly £1 per miss.
