When Tottenham signed Valencia striker Roberto Soldado for a then-club record fee of £27million in the summer, the White Hart Lane faithful were left drooling at the mouth with goalscoring anticipation.
But it’s safe to say the Spain international – who netted 30 times during his last season with Los Che – hasn’t quite lived up to his billing in the Premier League.
He’s found just six goals in the top flight since the summer, and most worryingly, only two of his successful strikes have come from open play. According to the tabloids, the Lilywhites management are now considering ousting the 28-year-old at the end of the season.
