Morgan Schneiderlin is ready to tell Southampton that he wants to leave to join Tottenham, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The French midfielder was yesterday linked with a £20m+ move to Spurs alongside team-mate Jay Rodriguez, in a deal that would take the Saints first-team exodus to a massive seven players.

Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren have already moved to Liverpool, while Callum Chambers and Luke Shaw are at Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

Schneiderlin – who represented his nation at the World Cup – is thought to be convinced that the South Coast club can no longer match his ambitions, and a move to join his former manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane is appealing.

The 24-year-old is prepared to let his feelings be known to Southampton’s hierarchy, which may result in his sale with the club thought to be ready to get rid of any players who don’t want to be at St Mary’s Stadium.

Meanwhile the Hampshire outfit are desperate to keep Rodriguez, but appear to be losing a battle with the forward having rejected two contract offers from them – although it’s unclear as to whether or not he has asked to leave.

No despite all the media hype Southampton has always fought back against the odds. Watching their last couple of pre-season games there is loads of potential. Before the critics start yes maybe not strong opposition but they look good and full of winning desire in their bellies. After all the players that are left have been hidden by a few better known players that have no loyalty to a club and just driven by money.
