Tottenham are preparing to swoop for Aston Villa’s Dutch World Cup star Ron Vlaar, according to the Express.
The 29-year-old centre-half has seen his stock rise significantly since last month’s tournament in Brazil, where he was one of the Netherlands’ most impressive performers.
And, despite some reported interest from Southampton and Manchester United, Spurs are prepared to offer Villa Michael Dawson, Lewis Holtby and cash for Vlaar in order to win the race for his signature.
Both Holtby and Dawson have been told they can leave White Hart Lane by new boss Maurico Pochettino, while Villa are likely to entertain a deal that’ll see then make some cash AND sign two players.
However, due to the financial restraints put in place by Villa owner Randy Lerner, it may be a struggle to get both Spurs players to agree personal terms at Villa Park.
