Tottenham are considering bids for Roma's Miralem Pjanic and CSKA Moscow's Alan Dzagoev according to FOX Sports.

Reports suggest that Andre Villas-Boas will be given considerable financial backing to improve his squad in January. The former Chelsea boss missed out on top transfer target Joao Moutinho when the summer transfer window slammed shut and it is thought that he wants to move quickly to avoid losing another midfield target.

Spurs have struggled in recent weeks, with a 5-2 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal hard to stomach for some fans. It is believed that Daniel Levy will assist Villas-Boas in claiming his targets in an attempt to recover the vain of form that Spurs had in October.

Pjanic, who has been described as "an old fashioned playmaker with huge techincal qualities", had a standout year in Serie A last season and he has continued to impress in this campaign. And at just 22, the Bosnian still has his best years ahead of him.

Meanwhile, Dzagoev garnered the attention of many top European sides in the summer, through his exceptional displays for Russia at the European Championships. Despite also being 22, Dzagoev has a wealth of experience for club and country and his goalscoring record is impressive from midfield.
