One of Tottenham’s worst nightmares is to lose their current number stopper Hugo Lloris over the summer. The Frenchman has been a rare positive for Spurs in a season marred by disappointment and it is highly likely that some of the worlds top clubs will be circling come the summer. With Brad Friedel on the verge of retirement the goalkeeping ranks at Spurs are looking a little sparse.
Fear not though because waiting in the wings is the popular Brazilian Gomes ready to win back favour at club where he has done nothing to justify his wages for a number of years now. One of the best shot stoppers the club has probably ever seen; Gomes has always done his best to compensate with his fair share of farcical goalkeeping gaffes.
