This season has been the most successful yet for Swansea match-day captain Ashley Williams.
The Wales international has gone from strength to strength since arriving in the Premier League two years ago, helping the Swans to finish up in 9th place and also claim their first League Cup title.
It’s lead to speculation that the 27 year old is ready to make the step up to a club playing European football, but Spurs should stick clear whilst local rivals Arsenal in addition to Liverpool remain in hot pursuit.
Williams is no doubt a talented defender, but the Lilywhites are already privy to a selection of capable centre-backs, including Michael Dawson, Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul and Steven Caulker.
The Lilywhites hardly need another body in the mix, and furthermore, Williams’ particular skills set, of being athletic, speedy and composed on the ball, make him little more than a cheap man’s Younes Kaboul.
