Tottenham have had a good start to proceedings so far in the Premier League this year.

The men from White Hart Lane had many asking them whether they could repeat the feats of what they did last year as they challenged for the title, especially with Champions League football on the agenda this season too, but so far they've suggested they can.

Wins against Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Stoke have been joined by two draws against the Merseyside clubs to leave them third in the league behind the fast-starting Everton and the impressive Manchester City with the attention now turning to the game against Middlesbrough this weekend.

Boro themselves have had a pretty decent start but Spurs won't care for that, they'll just be there for another three points. Here at Football FanCast we think they'll get them too if they do these three things...

Get Vincent Janssen scoring

Vincent Janssen

The Dutchman will have to step in for Harry Kane who is out for some time with an ankle injury. He's yet to score in the Premier League this season but has the pedigree from Holland to suggest with the right service he should be able to score. Tottenham fans up and down the country will hope their club know exactly what that service has to be like.

Stop Alvaro Negredo

The Spaniard has been in super form so far for Boro this season and looks like a great bit of business for them. Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will have to be on top of their games at the weekend to keep him quiet, but if they do Spurs should be in for a relatively straight forward afternoon, they'll just have to find the net.

Play one holding player

Eric Dier (2)

This game is not the time for caution. Spurs need goals and will be up against a team that will be more than happy to sit in against them. Mauricio Pochettino likes to play two holding players but in games like this, now opponents know how Spurs want to play, they need to go for it a bit more. Whether it be Mousa Dembele going forward or someone else it would certainly make the team more threatening even without Harry Kane.
