Tottenham are pondering a loan swoop for Barcelona attacker Isaac Cuenca, according to reports from The Metro.

Spurs chief Tim Sherwood is believed to be keen to bolster his option this month after inheriting his current squad from Andre Villas-Boas last month.

He has since re-shuffled his options, but it is believed that he is looking to bring in some fresh faces to boost the club’s top for charge.

Cuenca has emerged as a target for Tottenham, with Barca said to be willing to let the 22-year-old leave on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Spaniard spent last season with Ajax, and despite impressing has struggled to make an impact at the Nou Camp this term.

The La Liga champions are said to be ready to let him go out on another temporary deal to gain experience, and are even willing to fund half of his salary for he duration of the deal.

Cuenca has previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool, and has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.
