Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas is once again contemplating a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Willian according to The Metro.

Villas-Boas has been a long term admirer of the Brazilian playmaker and after the Ukrainian club signed highly rated midfielder Taison this week, it may be a good time to pounce.

It is thought that Donetsk would be after in excess of £20million for the 24-year-old but Spurs would not be willing to pay more than £15million this month.

Chelsea may once again follow up their interest in the highly rated player after Donetsk pipped them to the signing of Taison.

After losing Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart in the summer, Villas Boas is keen to add more quality to his midfield.

The likes of Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone are free to leave White Hart Lane as the former Chelsea and Porto manager sets about shaping his own squad in North London.
