Tottenham are considering a late move for unwanted Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Mexican forward looks set to leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes, with Louis van Gaal rumoured to have deemed him surplus to requirements.

Juventus are thought to be talking to the player, while the likes of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Southampton are watching, but Spurs are preparing to jump to the front of the queue with their own offer.

Chicharito is desperate to join a big club and could well be open to staying in England after spending four years at the Theatre of Dreams, which might make the Lilywhites appealing.

The Londoners are thought to be considering offloading £26m flop Roberto Soldado, yet Mauricio Pochettino wants a replacement in place before allowing the Spaniard to exit.

Hernandez joined United in 2010 from Chivas Guadalajara, but despite making an instant goalscoring impact he slipped down the pecking order in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season and was relatively unused by David Moyes.
