The Saints midfielder has been in terrific form this term, and looks set to earn a spot in England’s 23-man squad for the World Cup this summer.
A number of top Premier League sides are rumoured to be considering big money moves for his services this off-season, but it is understood that Spurs are more likely to get their man than the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
White Hart Lane chief Daniel Levy is said to be willing to spend big this summer to repair the damage of last summer’s transfer window, and has made Lallana a priority.
The skilful passer is seen as the ideal man to build a new era at the club around, with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku also on the agenda.
There have been no noises from the player or Southampton to suggest that a sale is on the agenda, but the playmaker may decide that at 25 it’s time to move on in a few months.
Lallana is valued at around £20m.
