Spurs face the Tigers just three days after beating them 1-0 in the league, after Roberto Soldado converted a controversial penalty in the 80th minute.
It was tough defeat for Steve Bruce’s side, who felt they deserved a share of the points. And Chiriches was quick to praise the Premier League newcomers, ahead of their 2nd meeting at White Hart Lane this month.
“They defended so hard and it was a tough game,” Chiriches told Tottenham’s official website.
“I think it will be the same in the cup, but I hope we will put on a good performance and we will win the game.”
Victory for Chiriches and his teammates will book their place in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, a tournament they have been successful in in the past. Spurs have lifted the trophy four times, most recently in 2008 after Jonathan Woodgate scored an extra time winner to beat Chelsea.
The Romanian played the full 90 minutes for the Lilywhites in their 4-0 win over Aston Villa in Round 3, and will be looking to start again against Hull. Spurs fans could watch the defender play just days after manager Andre Villas-Boas called for more support from the White Hart Lane faithful.
