The 56-year-old has been tipped to replace Tim Sherwood as Tottenham boss after the World Cup, but the former Fiorentina boss has poured cold water on the speculation.
Prandelli told Italian TV station Rai: “Me to Tottenham next season? This is fantasy football.
“It’s too soon to talk about my future, after the friendly with Spain in March we will have a meeting with (FIGC president, Giancarlo) Abete and the federal leaders.”
With Prandelli seemingly out of the running, ESPN claim Tottenham sources have told them they remain confident Holland boss Louis van Gaal will take over after the summer’s tournament in Brazil.
Van Gaal hinted at the possibility of taking over at White Hart Lane at the draw for the Euro 2016 qualifiers on Sunday, saying: “Maybe Tottenham are coming.”
Tottenham only offered Tim Sherwood an 18-month contract as head coach in December, but the former Spurs midfielder admitted he is not sure his job is safe – even if the club manages to qualify for next season;s Champions League.
