Tottenham are attempting to thrash out a deal with Juventus for highly-rated attacker Domenico Berardi, according to reports from The Metro.

The Italian starlet has emerged as one of Serie A’s finest young players this term during his current loan spell with Sassuolo, with a four-goal performance against AC Milan having announced his talents to a European audience highlight.

A number of the continent’s elite sides are tracking the 19-year-old, but Spurs are hopeful that they can convince Juve to sell to them before the end of the month.

Despite him being relatively new to senior first-team action at the highest level, the Old Lady value their man at around £15m.

However, Tottenham could attempt to reduce the cash sum needed by involving unwanted midfielder Etienne Capoue – whom they only signed over the summer – in any deal.

Tim Sherwood is sad to be desperate to add to his inherited squad before next week’s deadline, with securing a forward seen as a priority with Jermain Defoe set to leave in the coming months.
