The Romania international was one of the multiple arrivals during Spurs’ £110m spend last summer, and like many of the signings made he has failed to impress.
A niggling back injury has prevented the 24-year-old from being a first-team regular since he completed his £7.5m switch from Steaua Bucharest, but his agent says that the defender is not keen to stick around and force his way into new manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans:
“Did you see how little he played? I believe he will not remain in England.” Florin Manea said.
“I think he will go to Fiorentina.”
Manea went on to confirm that Tottenham are tracking Savic, which could open up the possibility for an exchange:
“Tottenham? I understand they’re interested in Savic.”
Savic spent one unsuccessful season in English football with City, before leaving to join La Viola in 2012.
He has since thrived in Serie A, developing a reputation for his reading of the game and all-round defensive abilities.
