Joleon Lescott has failed to concrete his place in the Manchester City first team this season and the defender looks to be on his way out with Turkish side Besiktas prime candidates to sign the player, according to Daily Star.
The former Everton central-back is currently unable to break into the squad with the likes of Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis securing a first team berth, while injured Matija Nastasic is also ahead of him in the pecking order.
Besiktas have already made their interest in Lescott known for quite some time, with club board member Erdal Torunogullar confirming ongoing negotiations between them and the player.
Torunogulları said: “We have been interested in Lescott since last season and are currently in talks with him.
“We have not agreed anything yet with Lescott, he has not signed for us,”
The English defender’s contract is set to expire this summer, allowing a free transfer to his new side.
Lescott will be hoping for more first team football, having only featured in 24 of City’s games in all competitions this season.
