At long last, after 40 or so minutes of us all wondering why we bothered with watching the Monday Night Football, Stevan Jovetic rifled home to give Manchester City the lead.
In fairness, on the balance of things, it was probably just ever so slightly against the run of play with Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool looking the most likely to take the lead.
Questions will be asked by all involved with Liverpool over the role of the defence in Jovetic’s opening goal, with the Reds back four failing to clear their line on a couple of occasion before the City forward smashed through Simon Mignolet’s legs.
Twitter, however, was thankful for something to discuss:

Great goal by Jovetic but it seems like he's taking his celebration a bit too far… pic.twitter.com/cSZ5aPz1Ic

Moreno hesitant and Jovetic took full advantage. Liverpool the better side up until that point.

Liverpool had looked more likely to score, but Jovetic seized on defensive error brilliantly
