An Etihad Stadium that was half empty due to delays caused by traffic, rain pouring down and, at half-time, Manchester City still hadn’t found a way past Aston Villa’s defence.
The signs weren’t looking good for Manuel Pellegrini & co.
Step forward, Edin Dzeko.
Just as Liverpool fans and players began dreaming of the Premier League title, again, City’s striker bagged a quick-fire brace to all but guarantee the three points.
In Sergio Aguero’s continued absence, due to injuries, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been crucial to City’s title challenge and, with that brace, he has scored over 14 Premier League goals in a season, for the first time.
If City avoid defeat against West Ham, on Sunday, then the Premier League is returning to the blue half of Manchester!
