West Ham are ready to offer Sunderland’s Emanuele Giaccherini a Premier League lifeline at the end of the season, according to the Metro.
Sunderland look all but doomed to relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season, despite a spirited 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad last night.
The Italian international has only shown flashes of what he can do at the Stadium of Light, but that hasn’t stopped West Ham boss Sam Allardyce from registering an interest.
Reports in Italy suggest Giaccherini has snubbed interest from Italian clubs such as Genoa and Roma, as he favours staying in the Premier League.
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet had said earlier in the week there may yet be a possibility of the Black Cats keeping him at the Stadium of Light.
But the Hammers are confident of getting their man, and talks are already scheduled before the end of the campaign.
Reports suggest Allardyce is ready to offer £5million for the winger, who is one of the highest paid players on Sunderland’s books.
