After failing to tempt Sunderland striker Connor Wickham to Upton Park, Sam Allardyce has secured the signature of former Metz forward Diafara Sakho in a £3.5million deal, according to The Guardian.West Ham could certainly do with some reinforcements up top - Andy Carroll is due to spend several months on the sidelines injured, and £12million signing Enner Valencia, who netted three times at the World Cup, is also suffering from fitness problems.Sakho netted 44 times in 114 appearances during his time with Metz, and will be expected to transition that proficiency to the Premier League. But Big Sam has already hinted that he wont be the Irons' final acquisition of the summer. So with that in mind, here's a list of FIVE players that could soon follow the Senegal international to East London.

MORGAN AMALFITANO

Morgan Amalfitano

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham have already agreed a deal to bring attacking midfielder Morgan Amalfitano to Upton Park:

As viewable below, the Frenchman was in good form during a season-long loan with West Brom last year:

His highlight being this sensational goal against Manchester United:

And the chances of remaining at parent club Marseille are exceptionally slim, with reports that the 29 year-old spat at coach Marcelo Bielsa during a training session he was told not to attend.

It appears a fee has been agreed but with QPR and Hull also interested, the Hammers are by no means the only option available to the former Lorient star:

WILFRIED ZAHA

West Ham are believed to be just one of many Premier League clubs in the mix for the signature of Manchester United misfit Wilfried Zaha:

The 21 year-old joined the Red Devils last summer after playing a vital role in Crystal Palace's promotion-through-the-play-offs campaign, netting a brace against Brighton in the semi-finals:

He also won the deciding penalty in a 1-0 Wembley affair, but since moving to Old Trafford has gone on to make just two substitute appearances for the Carrington club.

As the above Metro article suggests, Zaha has already agreed terms with West Ham in the form of a £30k per-week deal, but his transfer fee is yet to be negotiated.

Likely to be a central figure in Louis van Gaal's cull however, it's believed he could be available for around £7million.

NATHAN REDMOND

Nathan Redmond

West Ham have been linked with former Birmingham City starlet Nathan Redmond before:

Admittedly, that was some time ago; the 20 year-old winger has since joined and failed to stave off Premier League relegation with Norwich City.

But recent rumours suggest Stoke City are preparing an offer for the highly-rated Canary, which in turn could convince Sam Allardyce to revive his interest:

The England U21 excelled in the Championship during his time at St. Andrews and performed well under difficult circumstances at Carrow Road last season, as detailed below:

And the Hammers could certainly do with some added quality out wide, with Matt Jarvis and Stewart Downing both struggling for proficiency last season. Here's a short clip of Redmond in action:

IVAN STRINIC

Ivan Strinic (2)

Despite the signing of Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich Town, West Ham are still light on quality and depth at left-back.

Earlier this summer, they were strongly linked with Croatia international Ivan Strinic:

The 26 year-old has entered the final year of his contract with current club Dnipro and the Ukranian side are reportedly keen to sell before losing him for nothing next summer.

The full-back showed good form in the Europa League last season, as detailed below:

And measuring in at 6 foot 1, he certainly suits West Ham's aerially-combative style.

Rather worryingly however, despite several online sources declaring Stinic was on the verge of moving to Upton Park back in July, he's yet to make an appearance in East London.

Here's a very short video of Stinic falling over. Top Bants.

ANTONIO RUDIGER

Sam Howes

Another defender known to be on the Hammers radar is Stuttgart prodigy Antonio Rudiger:

The 21 year-old was in good form last season to help the Bundesliga outfit stave off relegation, as detailed below:

Rudiger

And the Hammers could certainly do with some reinforcements at the heart of defence. James Collins' inconsistencies are well known, James Tompkins' form is often blighted by injury and Winston Reid is yet to extend his contract past the end of the season.

Rudiger looks a top talent, but he may be out of West Ham's reach this summer. According to sources, Stuttgart have just rejected a lucrative bid from Monaco:
